I never know what to wear.

Most days, I throw on a sweater, jeans, and boots. I'll switch out the pants for a mini skirt when going out, but otherwise, I stick to a uniform.

That is, until this week.

Starting as a new series on 404 Error, I'm bringing on a friend every week to style me. Not only do they have complete control over my clothing, but my hair and makeup as well.

Although it's not hard to find fashionable friends, it is hard to choose between them. I thank Adina for making that decision so difficult. :)

Adina's on top of her shit.

You may not see her for days, but that's because she is locked in a studio, sewing, cutting, and draping. As a fashion design student at the Fashion Institute of Technology, her creations are awe-inspiring, almost as much as her networking abilities. I have learned so much from Adina about life, and I cannot wait to see the astounding heights she reaches.

When I first DM'd Adina on Instagram, asking if she could style me, she had a social media block on her phone, in true Adina fashion. Last weekend, she ran back and forth from my dorm hall to hers, pulling pieces for this outfit.

My favorite item from this outfit is the 1965 vintage Mary Quant mesh tank top. Covered in classic 60's motifs, the tank has stayed in perfect condition over the last sixty years, not without Adina's careful preservation.

Mary Quant is most well-known for bringing the mini skirt to the masses, a scandalous task at the time. Upon researching the famous designer, I discovered that the self-titled brand sells no apparel! The website vends primarily skincare and makeup products, with the odd merch items here and there.

Tip from a fashion business student: Start selling the classic mini-skirt again, Mary Quant's executive board! There's a real market for classic construction in clothing, something my generation craves!

I'll stop ranting. The tank is paired with a J. Crew leather pleated skirt and the coincidentally named Addina shoes from Doc Martens. Altogether, the silhouette is very Bob-Dylan-obsessed-beatnik-poet-goes-to-fashion-school-and-learns-a-few-things-along-the-way-about-herself. But what do I know?

I must draw attention to the fact that Adina attached a pair of thrifted gloves to my shoulders. It is unequivocally Daniel Rosenberry Schiaparelli of her.

Accessories include this chic pair of Coach sunglasses, drop earrings from the Tenement Museum gift shop, and the black-banded watch I thrifted from the Chelsea flea.

When asked about her style, Adina said she didn't realize she had a "cohesive Adina look" until recently. After stepping into her clothing, I can say that Adina's style is very much in the room with us. I love the look, my Twitter queen!

Thank you so much to Adina and my fantastic roommate, Anika, for taking photos of this fabulous outfit. The goal of this week was to push me out of my comfort zone, and I can say without a doubt that it was accomplished. I'm excited to experiment more with my style.

Who knows? I might just bring more wickedly talented friends along for the ride.
